TRITECTOR

TRITECTOR is a leak detector used to detect leaks in gas pipes.
REFCO Manufacturing Ltd. gave us the task of developing a product design that is first and foremost functional, fits the brand as well as the other products, but is still novel & unique in the industry.

For example, the size of the display and the size and number of batteries were specified.

As a final result, Peppertree delivered 3D data with which the manufacturer could develop the injection mould.

CONCEPTS
DEVELOPMENT

Various concepts were developed with the help of sketches, discussed with REFCO and further elaborated. In this way, a direction could be efficiently defined.

PRODUCT DESIGN

Define exact proportions and work out details: In phase 2, various variants were created from the concepts of phase 1. These were presented with detailed design drawings and simple mock-ups. This also allowed the handling of the leak detection device to be tested early in the process.

3D CAD
CONSTRUCTION

In order to be able to produce the injection mould for the Tritector, 3D data are necessary. We create these with the 3D CAD programme Solidworks. Since this is an overmould process, separate 3D bodies must be created for the hard plastic parts and the rubber parts.

When developing 3D CAD designs, the dimensions are defined down to the 100th.

Together with the engineers of REFCO Manufacturing Ltd. it was ensured that the PCB, the display, the batteries etc. have enough space in the housing.

GUI

In addition to the product design, Peppertree was asked to design the GUI (Graphical User Interface) to match the product and CI/CD.
