Service 02 — 3D product visualisation
product visualisation, before the product exists.
Peppertree creates photorealistic 3D product visualisations from your CAD data: images, animations, interactive 360° views and augmented reality. For marketing, web shops, sales, investors and crowdfunding – without a photo shoot and without a finished prototype.

Services
formats & services in detail
Format 01
3D renderings
High-resolution, photorealistic images in a studio or lifestyle setting – perfectly lit, without a photographer and without a prototype.
- Cut-outs for web shop & catalogue
- Lifestyle and in-context scenes
- Cross-sections & exploded views
- Any colour and material variant
Format 02
Product animations
Moving images that show mechanisms and inner workings – complex products become clear without long texts.
- Product turntables
- Function and assembly animations
- Short clips for social media & trade fairs
Format 03
Interactive 360° views
Customers rotate and zoom the product themselves. That builds trust, keeps visitors on the page longer and reduces returns.
- For web shops and product pages
- Runs directly in the browser
- Basis for web configurators
Format 04
Augmented reality (AR)
The 3D model is projected true to scale into the real environment through the smartphone camera – try before you buy.
- Web AR without an app download
- True-to-scale placement
- Strong wow effect in sales
Benefits
what 3d visualisations do for your business
Sell earlier
Convince investors, retailers and crowdfunding backers long before expensive tooling is paid for.
Explain the complex
Cross-sections and exploded views show what cannot be photographed.
Save costs
If a detail of the product changes, we adapt the model – instead of booking a new photo shoot.
Consistent imagery
Every item in the same light, from every angle – a consistent look across your web shop.
Endless variants
Colours, materials and configurations at the click of a button – ideal for configurators.
Develop faster
Test design decisions virtually and save on physical prototypes.
Process
how your visualisation is created
Data & briefing
CAD data (STEP, IGES, OBJ) is ideal. If you don’t have any, dimensioned drawings are enough – we build the 3D model ourselves.
Materials & light
Physically based materials (PBR), lighting and scene are tailored to your brand and your purpose.
Review & refinement
You give feedback on test renderings, and we refine every detail.
Delivery
Final images, animations or real-time models in the formats you need.
No CAD yet, just an idea? With Quick Design for startups we design the product and visualise it in one go – in 2 to 4 weeks.
FAQ
frequently asked questions
What is product visualisation?
Product visualisation is the digital, photorealistic representation of a product using 3D computer graphics (CGI). It shows a product as an image, animation, 360° view or in augmented reality – even before a physical prototype exists.
How much does product visualisation cost?
Simple single images based on clean CAD data start in the three-digit franc range. Complex scenes, elaborate material development or animations are usually in the four- to five-digit range.
What data does Peppertree need for a visualisation?
CAD data such as STEP, IGES or OBJ is ideal. If there is no 3D data, technical drawings with dimensions are usually sufficient – Peppertree then builds the 3D model itself.
How long does a 3D visualisation take?
Simple cut-outs are often ready within a few days. Complex animations or elaborate lifestyle scenes take 1 to 3 weeks.
Can renderings be told apart from photos?
When done right, hardly. Modern render engines use physically based materials (PBR) and path tracing, so high-quality product renderings are usually indistinguishable from photographs to the human eye.
Can the visualisation also be used for AR, 360° or web configurators?
Yes. For this, the high-resolution CAD models are optimised into lightweight low-poly models and re-textured so they run smoothly in the browser and on smartphones. Peppertree builds interactive 3D with tools such as Babylon.js.
